EAST INDIAN AND LATIN CULTURES FUSE - STRAIGHTLACED ENGINEERS BECOME UNLIKELY AUDIENCE
SAN FRANCISCO, California, May 31, 2009 – The technology savvy population of the Bay Area is embracing to a new cultural phenomenon that blends Indian and Latin genres. This ground breaking combination is the brainchild if a new performing arts company, Beyond Dreamz Entertainment. After launching in India, the United Kingdom and the United States, Beyond Dreamz has come to the Bay Area where the distinct IT audience of the Silicon Valley has become one of the company’s biggest supporters. One of Beyond Dreamz’s recent successful events, a Bollywood salsa gala organized along with Induz - a non-profit organization, drew a crowd of more than 500 people, including a large technology crowd. Owner Giju John says profits were roughly 200% more than projected which helped the company to cover some part of the production and marketing costs. The overall turnout and support that the event received far exceeded John’s expectations.
Beyond Dreamz Entertainment is an entertainment company of a unique Hindi-Latin genre, embracing all avenues of the performing arts including dance, music, video and production for corporate and commercial purposes. Events such as “Salsa Gala Night” helped the company to raise funds to invest in much needed marketing and production activities. Breaking new ground, John realized he would need help and reached out to colleague Juliette Donohue of ActionCOACH Business Coaching. Through Donohue’s extensive knowledge of both general business and the arts, marketing efforts have moved beyond the standard. Both John and Donohue utilize different networks through their corporate technology backgrounds to reach out to companies such as Google, Intel and Cisco, connecting with new consumers and promoting his business. “Spreading the combination of Indian-Latin themed entertainment has always been my dream. I was born in India and to be able to combine my heritage with my Latin dance expertise to produce media representing this cultural movement in a variety of forms has been extremely gratifying. Working with ActionCOACH I recognized new avenues and audiences to expand and grow while using out-of-the-box marketing strategies to result in higher profit margins,” said John.
